Reach For The Best That Is In You

“Reach for the best that is in you” Holy Bible Reading is taken from Matthew 18:12-14 Jesus said to His disciples, “Tell me. Suppose a man has a hundred sheep and one of them strays; will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hillside and go in search of the stray? I tell you solemnly, if he finds it, it gives him more joy than do the ninety-nine that did not stray at all. Similarly, it is never the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.” This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. My dear students, For me and I hope for you, too, the parable above we just listened to, gives us a real support from within ourselves. What is that? Jesus never leaves us alone. Jesus will always look for us wherever we are. Jesus loves us so much. He guides and leads us to the best. This belief and faith will lead us to reach the best that God has given us. Why? It is because most of us live and act far below our capacity. Psychologists say that most of us develop only ten percent of our potential. God has given us a hundred percent but we use only ten percent, so we consequently never reach the best. Life is just like a ten speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use. My question is: how to improve of using our gears or potencies? I think the best way for us as students, is by setting goals every three months, six months or twelve months, and it can help to keep us growing. Bela wanted to be and excellent stenographer. Her present shorthand speed was 85 words per minute. Jenny wanted to reduce the level of rejects in her company. The present level was four percent. Dennis had forty subscribers to his news service, but he wanted more, even double. Eka wanted to improve her typing speed as best as she could. Her present speed was 35 words per minute. Dylan wanted to better his timing for the mile run. His present was 4:03. As you set your goals, follow the method that Bela, Jenny, Dennis, Eka, Dylan used. First of all, measure where you are at this moment. Use that as a benchmark. Then ask yourself: what’s my target? But don’t just put one goal, break it into three or four levels. Give numbers to each of these levels, since what is measured usually improves, and what is not measured, usually does not improve. So, what shall we do now? I suggest, please set your goals of study: which mark I would like to reach for Mathematics in the first mid-semester test, semester test, mid-second semester test, or in final test? Let us pray, God, our Father in heaven, you come among us through your Holy Spirit. May your Holy Spirit inspire us to do the best, as what Jesus, your only Son, has done for us. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen. Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory be. Saint Peter, pray for us. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Writer: Januarius W.
