Pèi Pèi Laoshi
Hello! My name is Ekatia, S.S. My Chinese name is Zhèng Pèi Pèi. Students call me, Pèi Pèi Laoshi. My birthday is on May 30th. I am graduated in a Language Degree Major in Chinese.
I have been teaching in Saint Peter’s School since July 2008. My Position is as Vice Principal of Student Affair. Being a teacher is a new experience for me. When I was child, I had never thought of being a teacher, even in my dream. Perhaps God blessed me with this destiny by sharing knowledge. However, when I hopped myself into the journey of teaching, it changed my perception. I feel the complete happiness and satisfaction in teaching young learners.
Besides teaching in Saint Peter’s School, I engaged myself in media as a Chinese Radio Announcer (Anchorwoman) at Jakarta Mandarin Radio Station. I enjoy it very much. I got my experience as a reporter in an International Daily News < Guoji ribao > and Malaysia Newspaper < Xingzhou ribao >. I had conducted some exclusive interviews with few actors, actresses and singers from Taiwan, China and Korea.
Learning Chinese Language ( Mandarin ) is not an easy job, but it’s full of fun. Besides English, Mandarin is the second International language. So, it is very important too. In recent years, we can observe that Indonesians are coping with Mandarin Language and even the whole world. We can see red lanterns, lion and dragon dance and all Chinese things and cultures in every Chinese celebration in the malls, department stores, offices, schools and etc. I am grateful to have an opportunity to be a Master of Ceremony in some Chinese events.
Mandarin is one of the difficult subjects. However, we need to be patient to strive harder in order to learn. Passion to learn and practise can make it perfect to go International. Jiayóu!
